Born and raised in the Oklahoma City area, Jamie Buxton was introduced to performing at an early age. She started singing and dancing lessons at age four and was cast as Gretl in a local production of The Sound of Music a few years later. That show cemented Jamie’s lifelong love for the theatre.
After performing in local musicals throughout her teen years, Jamie attended the University of Central Oklahoma where she majored in Music Theatre. Upon graduation, she moved to New York and was soon cast in the European tour of the notorious hippie musical Hair.
Jamie’s credits include Hairspray at North Shore Music Theatre, the Hawaiian tour of A Chorus Line as Val, 42nd Street as Peggy Sawyer, Oklahoma! as Ado Annie, and 16 productions with Oklahoma City’s Lyric Theatre. She played leading roles in the films Star-Crossed and Rainbow Around the Sun and has appeared on The Tyra Banks Show and As the World Turns. A member of Actor’s Equity Association (AEA) and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA), Jamie now resides in Brooklyn with her husband, composer/bass player Nathan Siler.
